Windows & Doors

How important is proper installation of windows and doors

We cannot emphasize enough the importance of proper window and door installation. In the almost thirty years we have been in business less than ten percent of the time do we see the proper and best installation of windows and doors. This is so puzzling to us as the number one culprit for water leaking into a homes wall is from improperly installed windows and doors. We feel others do not do it correctly because it is not easy to properly install a window or door, especially on finished homes that are getting windows and/or doors replaced. Other contractors want to do there work fast and cheap as this effects the money in their pockets. But this does not show concern to you the homeowner. Doing the best installation of windows and doors make sure that you are not going to experience water infiltration that is going to cause rot and mold which results in tens of thousands of dollars in future repairs. Also doing best installation of windows and doors offers a great improvement in energy efficiency which results into money savings to you. There is only one way to install windows and doors and that is the right way…yes this may cost a little more but the benefits are worth it.

How to properly replace a window:

Remove the interior window treatments
Remove the interior window trims
Cautiously remove the window
Cut a positive pitch on the outside edge of the rough sill
Install “back dam” on inside of rough sill
Install Delta Vent S/A into rough opening
Install flexible continuous self-adhered membrane sill pan wrap
Apply caulk on sides and top at locations for under the nailing fins
Install window…level, rack and secure
Install flashing tape on both legs of window
Caulk nailing fin to window frame if needed
Install custom head flashing with end dams
Install Delta Vent S/A over top of head flashing
Apply specialize spray foam insulation
Reinstall or install new trims
Prep and paint trims
Reinstall window treatments

Proper installation is not easy but it is the only way to do it correctly

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We contracted with Ai to remediate a faulty stucco installation on a retaining wall and on part of our house. From start to finish, the communication was excellent and timely, and the project manager from AI, Brent, explained very thoroughly what the problems were and how they would be fixed. He answered our many questions before and during the job with patience and clarity. The estimate was professionally prepared and very clear as to what we could expect and what the costs would be. Brent kept in touch with us as the job was scheduled and then as it progressed through the phases, so that we were able to plan for the disruption that naturally occurred. The workmen did a superb job of fixing the issues and the finished work looks just great. The stucco areas that Ai fixed are now a point of pride for us, and really add to the appeal of our home. Many thanks to Brent and the crew and Ai!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Sean and his team did a fantastic job from start thru completion. The proposal was very detailed identifying all issues to be repaired with costs, and also potential unknowns and associated charges. They emailed detailed status reports (or called) every few days, and the finished work looked great, and was completed within the expected time frame and cost. We highly recommend Ai.

Stucco Remediation is not something anyone wants to do, but AI took a bad situation, listened to our concerns, and offered multiple solutions working within our budget. If you are looking for the cheapest "quick fix" then look elsewhere. AI has a proven process that offers true solutions and it shows in the finished product. My highest recommendations to AI Restoration.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a major stucco restoration job and AI handled all aspects of the job perfectly. High attention to detail, very knowledgeable. All carpenters and subs were a pleasure to have working here. Had a question pop up months later and they went above and beyond, showing up immediately to help diagnose something that ended up being totally unrelated to the work they had done. Highest recommendation.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ai Restoration performed a stucco remediation project on my home. I had a leak coming through the stucco into my home. They took the time to answer all of my questions, thoroughly explaining what caused the leak, how they would repair it and how their system would prevent it from happening again. Everyone I dealt with at Ai Restoration, from the office to the workers who were on site were professional and a pleasure to work with. They took care not to damage any surrounding areas and completely cleaned up afterwards. I am very happy with the results. The new stucco looks great and I now have peace of mind when it rains. I highly recommend them if you're in need of stucco remediation.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The Traditions at Ridley Creek Condominium Complex were very happy with the $1 million plus siding replacement project Ai recently completed (October 2023). They did everything they promised, worked closely with more than 200 homeowners whose homes they had to invade, left the grounds immaculate and overall did an exceptional job. Their workers were unfailingly polite and responsive and did an amazing job reconstructing our foundations and residing parts of our 11 buildings with upgraded materials. These folks know what they're doing. Jodine Mayberry, president, Traditions HOA.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had the pleasure of doing work with Ai Restoration this year. It was remediation project that took close to a year. Everyone I was in contact with was fantastic. They took care of the residents which means a lot in a retirement community. Would I hire them again? Definitely! I would highly recommend Ai Restoration!
